Writing Through the Cracks: self-forgiveness and compassion in memoir writing

“Ring the bells that still can ring

Forget your perfect offering

There is a crack in everything

That’s how the light gets in.”

– Leonard Cohen

To write about pivotal events from our own lives requires a reckoning with our pasts. How do we interrogate ourselves to get at the truth of our stories when the details do not always shine a glamorous light upon us? Writing Through the Cracks will give you tools to get vulnerable in your writing, scrutinize the past from a place of compassion, and help you to discover the story beneath your stories.

Join educator, coach, consultant, and professional shame slayer Gina Senarighi and nonfiction writer and educator Cooper Lee Bombardier for an engaging, accessible, and intensive writing workshop at the beautiful and historic Sou’wester Lodge. Writers of all levels are welcome!

OPENING UP COUPLES RETREAT

Sometimes re-imagining relationships can be a little lonely.  You might have great friends, but they're not always the most open-minded when we talk about changing the way we love.

And sometimes rethinking relationships can be overwhelming.  Most of us aren't taught great relationship skills in the first place- let alone given the tools to tailor relationships to our unique needs and personal growth.

Rather than stay in overwhelm and isolation we gather once a year to build friendship, share tools, gather resources, reflect, grow, and laugh.

May 19-20, 2018 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Private Residence in SW Portland, Oregon

A little about my relationship expertise...

I've been supporting couples and teams in creating connected meaningful relationships for nearly twenty years. In that time I've learned to apply the science of trust in my own life as well as within the thousands of relationships and clients I've supported.

Few of us are lucky enough to meet relationship role models along the way who can teach us how to foster trust, communicate openly, and repair from relationship traumas. I've become that mentor to people all around the globe, and I'm excited to share what I've learned with you.
